The eyes of a Bobcat, Lynx rufus.
Taking this, I wanted a great shot and was caught up in all the technical aspects of it, when I suddenly noticed he was looking at me -- not just gazing in my direction, but actually looking at me. Even more unexpected was the benevolence and serenity I saw in his eyes. I am a definite animal lover but not one to romanticize. Still, in that moment I felt as if he acknowledged me and consented to my presence. He allowed me three shots, gave me a slow and deliberate blink, and then withdrew. I have photographed many animals but have rarely felt so honored not to see, but to be seen.

Awesome shot. The story underneath is really fantastic. Naturally, I fitly found humor in it. It seems like he(lynx, or whichever feline he is) was being a little celebrity with that moment. It's like he turned, saw the camera, and was like, "I heard about your kind. Some of you are good. Some demented. You have the tool for good. Take the pictures. Hurry your motions and do it. *three camera clicks* Ok, enough, unless you are providing dinner. Send me a copy if it becomes famous.*Walks off*." Damn, I didn't know I'd type all of that. Sorry.
